What does your
ground actually need?
We build tournament-ready playing surfaces from raw dirt — laser-graded cricket squares, FIFA-spec football pitches, and hybrid rugby fields that survive 200 boots every Saturday.
Three surfaces. One contractor who builds them all to spec.

Laser-graded squares with consistent bounce from the first ball.
We excavate to 150mm, lay a compacted gravel base, intermediate coarse sand, and top with specialist cricket loam. Every square is laser-graded to ECB's 1:100 fall in the line of play before seeding.

FIFA-spec pitches with herringbone drainage that clears in 45 minutes.

Hybrid fields that survive 200 boots every Saturday for eight years.
Not sure which surface suits your soil type and usage pattern? Our five-minute assessment tells you exactly what your ground needs.
We read the ground before we touch it.
Independent expert advice costs 5–10% of project budget. Our site survey fee is credited against the build contract.

Six cores pulled before we quote a single pound.
Soil Core Analysis
We pull 150mm cores from six points across your facility. They tell us compaction depth, organic matter content, and where your drainage is failing before we quote a single pound.
Laser Level Survey
A common misconception: most facilities appear level until a laser is applied. We survey every gradient — it's not unusual to find a 1:40 fall where ECB guidelines require 1:100.
Usage Load Assessment
A pitch used 40 hours a week needs a different specification to one used 8. We calculate your wear index and size the root zone depth, drainage pipe centres, and hybrid fibre density accordingly.
Post-Rain Drainage Report
We visit after significant rainfall to observe your existing drainage behaviour. Where the water sits longest tells us exactly where to concentrate the drainage works.
Every pitch is a facility we walk past on the way to the next one.

Club Secretaries
Booking Saturday fixtures. Need reliability, drainage that clears overnight, and a contractor who answers the phone.
School Bursars
Managing ten acres of playing fields on a capital budget. Need multi-sport surfaces, ten-year maintenance projections, and a report for governors.
County Sports Partnerships
Rolling out multi-use games areas across boroughs. Need Sport England compliance, community access hours, and surfaces that scale.
We'd had waterlogging on the main pitch every winter for six years. GroundCraft came out after heavy rain, showed us exactly where the drainage had failed, and the new herringbone system cleared the pitch in under an hour after our first test storm. We haven't cancelled a fixture since.
The laser survey revealed a 1:38 fall on our square — we'd been playing on a slope we couldn't even see. The rebuilt square has consistent bounce end to end. Our groundsman says it's the best surface he's worked with in twenty years.
As a school bursar, I needed to justify the capital spend to governors. GroundCraft's preliminary surface report named our soil type, costed three drainage options, and showed projected maintenance savings over ten years. It was the document that got the project approved.
Assess My Ground
Answer five questions. We'll send you a preliminary surface report — your soil type, a recommended drainage approach, and a site survey fee — no phone call pressure.
